The 1936 National Guard Armory that houses the Old Independence Regional Museum is one of the most architecturally distinctive armories in Arkansas, boasting a design by architect Peter Blaauw featuring both Art Deco and Gothic Revival influences. It was listed on the National Register on May 29, 1998.

Very interesting, had more stuff than I expected as people always tell me that it's just a walk in and out. I wanted to go since I've always lived in Independence county and I didn't regret the visit. It was cool
